I never planned to become a queen.

I was just a Jewish girl raised by my cousin Mordecai after losing my parents. Quiet. Hidden. Ordinary. In a kingdom filled with power, beauty, and politics, I was the least likely person to change history. But sometimes, God places ordinary people in extraordinary positions for a reason. (Esther 2:5-17)

When the king chose me, it looked like favor from the outside. Royal clothes. A crown. A palace. But what people didn’t see was the pressure behind the position. Because purpose isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes, the place God calls you to will test your courage before it reveals your calling.

Then came the moment that changed everything.

A decree was issued to destroy my people. Fear spread everywhere. And suddenly, being queen wasn’t about status anymore—it was about responsibility. I had a choice: stay silent and protect myself, or risk everything to stand for what was right. Approaching the king without permission could cost me my life. (Esther 4:1-11)

I was afraid.

Honestly? I think anyone would be.

But then Mordecai reminded me of something bigger than my fear:

“Who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14)

That question changed me.

Maybe the crown was never about me. Maybe the platform, the influence, the opportunity, the season I was in—it was all preparation for this exact moment. So I chose courage. Not because I felt fearless, but because purpose mattered more than comfort.

And God moved.

What was meant to destroy us became the very story that revealed His protection and faithfulness. The girl who once hid her identity became the woman who saved a nation. (Esther 7-9)

Maybe you’ve been wondering why God placed you where you are right now.

Maybe you feel unqualified. Unnoticed. Unready.

Maybe you’re in a season that feels heavy—where you know you’re being called to speak up, step out, lead, forgive, create, start over, or stand firm. But fear keeps whispering that you’re not enough.

But what if this moment is bigger than you?

What if the place you’re in right now isn’t random?

What if your pain prepared you?

What if your story, your influence, your gifts, your experiences were given to you for such a time as this?

You don’t need to have all the answers to walk in purpose. Esther didn’t. She only had obedience, courage, and faith that God was already ahead of her.

And maybe that’s what God is asking from you too.

Because purpose often looks terrifying before it becomes meaningful.

And the moments that define us usually begin with one decision: to trust God beyond our fear.
